When You Look Gorgeous On Photos but You Think You Don’t

Somebody must have told you how good-looking you are and you can honestly admit to yourself, modesty aside, you’re gorgeous. Yet sometimes you just can’t help feeling less confident about the way your photos turn out or your photographer tells you have to do better, you may need to change your attitude. Do you have good posture, perfect poses, proper breathing and attention to the camera but you still end up not feeling good about your photos? Maybe the problem is not with what you’re not doing but what you’re thinking or feeling. Let’s try some more techniques that can bring out your romance with the camera.

Relax and just do it

Rule number one for a great photo is to stop thinking about how it will turn out and start being in the moment – your moment. Whether you’re being directed to give a wide for-toothpaste-commercial smile or a sultry look, you have to let go of the tension in your body. Go for the Peter Pan effect. Think positive thoughts. If it helps to fantasize about posing in front of your significant other then, please, do it. (Just don’t forget to write a teeny weeny note that in real life that’s the photographer you’re posing for lest you get carried away).

Trust the expert

Photographers in this industry know what clients need for a specific project. Take your photographer’s cue and follow his directions. Remember that he’s holding the camera and sees your every move; in an instant he may be able to process your image and project it to print in his mind. Even supermodels didn’t take their own photos. Somebody was behind the camera the whole time, watching for the right angles to show up.

Let your inner child play

Remember when you used to play princess or knight (for guys)? Pretend play works even for actor and actress wanna be’s. Be sincere with any emotion you express in front of the camera. Children (except for the shy ones) often make good pictures because they are uninhibited and fearless. In short, have fun. Not many professions let the professional have real fun while working.

You’re a model: reality check

Just in case you have forgotten this – you are a model. Somebody must have told you already that you have what it takes to be one. Deal with it! Many people lose their chances for success not because they are losers but because they didn’t know that they have it already. Go have some pretty photos!
